A role with the Design team means a big opportunity to start from scratch and create something truly original. Then you’ll have success on our Design team who owns the design and development of all Target-Owned Brands in Consumer Electronics and Accessories. In close partnership with our merchant and sourcing counterparts, you’ll drive brand cohesion and continuity, ensuring all our Owned Brand products meet the division growth strategies, line plans, price points and overall creative direction.
As a Designer in Consumer Electronics, you will design for a portfolio of Owned Brands that deliver trend-forward solutions and foundational value solutions. You will design electronic devices and their accessories, covering both hard goods and soft goods. You will have a unique role in growing our Out-of-Aisle assortments within endcaps, focals, mini seasonal spaces and company gateways. Under the overall direction of Design leadership, you will work with an assigned category, brand, business or guest segment and manage your own process and calendar. You will be expected to maintain a diligent approach to workload, which includes timely communication with internal and external partners across multiple cross-functional teams. You’ll support and drive concepts throughout the development process, research, selection of materials/finishes, and the creation of silhouettes/form language. Using CAD, illustrations, and hand sketches, you’ll translate ideas into product direction and prepare professional presentation boards that clearly communicate the design point of view with the appropriate level of detail. You’ll build brand cohesion by partnering with peers across the division to ensure continuity. In collaboration with engineering, sourcing, and operations partners you’ll also identify, troubleshoot and resolve product issues.
