Udemy’s New Ventures team has been set up to focus on turbo-boosting our business in Korea, leveraging our strategic partnership with our local partner, Woongjin Thinkbig, established in 2021.

We are looking for a talented individual who is enthusiastic and passionate about contributing to Korea's reskilling and upskilling efforts. You will have the opportunity to be in the drivers seat to drive international expansion for a global tech company.

About this role

You will spearhead the content strategy and oversee the course acquisition operations for Korea, working in collaboration with our local partner, Woongjin Thinkbig.

You will be responsible for ensuring the sustainable growth of high-quality native Korean content for both D2C and B2B businesses to drive revenue growth. Additionally, you will work closely with Woongjin Thinkbig and NV team members to run operations for market growth efforts.

This is a full-time position located in Seoul, Korea.

What you'll be doing

  • Establish strategy for our content efforts in Korea, including but not limited to determining the priority areas, optimal channel mix for course and instructor acquisition, based on overall team direction.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the Korea market requirements (for both D2C and B2B), culture and competitive landscape.
  • Conceptualize and implement initiatives tailored to meet market demands and achieve content goals.
  • Execute and oversee content operations, including but not limited to instructor partnerships, running course creation campaigns.
  • Analyze and present course data to understand the performance of course collection
  • Responsible for content related metrics, including maintaining a pipeline of new courses
  • Work closely with our partner, Woongjin Thinkbig, on all aspects of content, from strategy to execution, and act as a point person to facilitate communication between Woongjin Thinkbig.

What you’ll have

  • The ability to develop content acquisition strategies with a particular focus on acquiring local content through the marketplace motion.
  • Experience in content strategy, acquisition, sales or business development; experience with digital content a plus
  • Strong communication skills with internal stakeholders and with instructors and partners
  • Experience managing complex projects, meeting deadlines and handling several projects at a time with a high attention to detail
  • Strong track record of exceeding goals and high achievement
  • Self-directed and team-oriented, with strong interpersonal skills and a growth mindset
  • Be willing to travel and flexibly accommodate meetings and collaboration with teams in North America and Asia.
  • Skill set to utilize tools such as SFDC, Google, Canva, Miro, Slack, etc.
  • Must be data-driven and comfortable using SQL, Tableau, and Mode.
  • Must be fluent in Korean and English
