JOB TITLE: Director, Content Strategy Planning

LOCATION: REMOTE

THE ROLE:

As Director of Content Strategy Planning, you will be responsible for leading data-driven analysis and strategy to drive business impact and growth for our industry leading Sounds catalog. Specifically, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive evaluation of our library, building scalable models to drive value from both new and existing aspects of our library, and helping drive both content merchandising and acquisition strategies. Your strategy will help enhance our music library, drive user engagement, and support our business growth objectives. This will include OKR setting alignment, budget setting, content product roadmap, and XFN strategic initiatives and alignment. The ability to nurture dynamic cross-functional trust and collaboration is critical to this role. This role will report directly to the SVP, Content.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Develop and build comprehensive content strategies in collaboration with the leadership team that drive every aspect of the Content team influencing content acquisition of high quality, performing samples and sounds, merchandising, programming and content marketing decisions to maximize business impact.
  • Develop and maintain the Content team's frameworks and roadmap.
  • Develop and manage the content strategy budget, ensuring the efficient allocation of resources.
  • Align the content strategy with Splice’s overall business objectives and current market trends.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, emerging genres, the competitive landscape, and user preferences, enabling us to differentiate and enhance our music library.
  • Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop strategies that drive user engagement and retention.
  • Gather data and analyze user feedback to continuously improve our content offerings and user experience.
  • Establish KPIs and metrics to measure the success of content initiatives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on performance, user engagement, and strategic goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS: (MUST-HAVE SKILLS)

  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in data-driven content, media, or music creation and curation.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful content strategies and roadmaps.
  • Experience working with product and technology teams to create excellent content consumption experiences.
  • Ability to guide data teams in driving content curation based on emerging trends and user insights, including personalization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of pricing and statistical models.
  • Ability to forge strong internal relationships to build trustful, collaborative, and high-impact partnerships.
  • Strong curiosity and learning mindset, with the ability to innovate at the intersection of art, technology, and data.

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience working at a music company or within the music industry.
  • Start-up experience with rapid growth and scaling.

The national pay range for this role is $150,500 - $175,500. Individual compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
