About the role

The Program Associate, Market Readiness drives the implementation of Insurance Business strategies by leading projects of varying sizes from development through go-live monitoring and retrospectives. You will work closely with business, operations, and product stakeholders in defining project milestones, mitigating organizational risk, and develop reporting to expand the Oscar product into new states. This role will also support various small scale projects to ensure operational success for the Insurance Business.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Market Readiness.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

You must reside in one of the following states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Note, this list of states is subject to change.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $93,600 - $122,850 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $84,240 - $110,565 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar's unlimited vacation program, and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the implementation project lifecycle end to end to ensure program and project success
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables by developing detailed work plans, timelines, and resource allocation
  • Manage inbound escalations, validate the issue, identify root cause, and communicate resolution to stakeholders
  • Analyze program risks by flagging issues, managing escalations, and tracking and resolving risks and issues
  • Support business alignment and oversight with key stakeholders by providing cross-program support to program leads and manage expectations
  • Partner and meet with other departments and various stakeholders to ensure operational excellence
  • Work with leadership and program stakeholders to lead program retros and assess program strengths and weaknesses while providing regular updates on status, risks and progress
  • Keep detailed records of project progress, decisions made, and communications
  • Ensure proper controls and monitoring are in place for the program
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of strong project management or operational experience in the health insurance space.
  • 3+ years experience in change management and process improvement
  • 3+ years stakeholder management experience

Bonus Points

  • Advanced degrees in business (ie. MBA)
  • PMP, CSM or Six Sigma Certified
  • Experience with payers offering ACA/health exchange insurance
  • Experience working in a highly regulated ACA landscape
  • Healthcare experience (Health Insurance, Health Systems, or Healthcare Consulting)
  • Project management software (i.e. monday.com, Jira, Asana, or Trello)
