The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for managing the financial aspects of the Community Health Systems, Shared Business Operations entity. This role requires strong full cycle accounting skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Required Experience:

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in Accounting/Finance setting and general accounting knowledge with a focus in full cycle accounting
  • Willingness to learn Oracle and leverage the training, reporting, and process components to excel at the role.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in facility/department chargeback processes or expenses allocations across various business sectors
  • Hospital/Healthcare System, multi-site accounting experience.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial information to stakeholders.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Google Suite preferred

About the Opportunity:

  • Month-end Close Support: Partner with the other leaders and teams within SBO Finance during month-end close to ensure a smooth close process. Monitor the GL for errors and reach out to other areas within the organization to make corrections. Assist in assessing current processes and identifying improvements, testing and applying those in production.
  • Financial Reporting: Creating regular financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs), financial metrics, and trends. These reports help in monitoring financial performance and making informed decisions. Preparing and presenting financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
  • Budget Management: Assisting with budget preparation and monitoring, ensuring that expenses are in line with budgetary guidelines. Lead monthly budget report out sessions with senior leaders.
  • Business Partnering: Collaborating with other departments, such as operations, and procurement to align financial goals with the SBO objectives. Providing financial insights and guidance to support decision-making and improve overall service efficiency.
  • Performance Analysis: Evaluating the financial performance of the SBO initiatives and projects. Conducting variance analysis, identifying areas of improvement, and recommending strategies to enhance profitability and cost-effectiveness.
  • Chargeback Methodology: Collaborating with other SBO Towers such as finance, P2P, revenue management and executive leadership to develop chargeback methodology for services. Oversee monthly chargeback process, expense allocations, maturity of chargeback methodology.
  • Compliance: Establishing and maintaining financial controls and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and policies. This includes monitoring financial transactions, reviewing contracts, and implementing internal controls to mitigate risks.
  • Oracle Fusion Support: Collaboration with SBO business users, EPM team members, ERP team members, Master Data Management and other IT groups. Understand the functions of the EPM suite of products (Financial Close and Consolidation, Account Reconciliation, Enterprise Data Management, Enterprise Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting) in addition to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP and Non GAAP); including partnership accounting.
