Job Overview

Davies Risk Services is looking for an experienced Loss Control Reviewer. Reporting to the Loss Control Supervisor, you will meet customer requirements and expectations by reviewing and updating residential and commercial surveys for consistency, content, and quality in a timely manner.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review survey photographs to ensure they meet quality requirements and capture all necessary elements and pre-determined characteristics of the property.
  • Review photographs to identify hazards and conditions of the subject property, in accordance with client guidelines, and ensure they are clearly noted. As required, ensure proper recommendation is selected.
  • Review the RCT/replacement cost forms for each survey to confirm the property characteristics reflect those shown in the subject property photographs.
  • Review the sketch/dwelling diagram to confirm it matches the footprint of the property surveyed.
  • When necessary, utilize various public data sources to verify property information.
  • When necessary, correspond in writing with field representatives regarding concerns, errors, or deficiencies on specific individual reports.
  • Portrays a positive image of Davies Risk Services with clients, field representatives, and internal staff by demonstrating high business standards, ethics, and integrity.
  • Ensure optimum performance of the organization by recommending ways to improve productivity, increase effectiveness, and reduce costs.
  • Act within the scope of authority to ensure Davies Risk Services’ objectives, guidelines, policies, and practices are maintained.
  • Actively participate in training sessions and utilize knowledge gained to progressively increase quality and productivity.

Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience working in a remote environment
  • Experience in a service-oriented business

Preferred

  • Previous work experience in quality assurance, residential or commercial insurance, or other property insurance related field is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented with strong analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills are necessary
  • Ability to meet established deadlines while maintaining high quality
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Proactive, independent, and takes initiative with consistent follow through
  • Superior time management skills with capability of working with and meeting deadlines
  • Exceptional capability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent organization and documentation skills in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
  • Excellent team player with interpersonal skills

  • Exhibit discretion with sensitive and confidential information
  • Display a comfort level working with key people at all levels within an organization

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands

This is a home-based, full time, hourly, non-exempt position that predominantly operates remotely from a professional home-based office environment routinely using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary.
