The Fire Alarm Design Manager will be responsible for supervising, managing, training, and teaching the current designers within the office. The fire protection Design Manager will work closely with the Project Managers and the Division Manager on current and upcoming projects.

This role may sit anywhere in the United States working remotely.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop quality and control methods.

  • Assign projects to designers.

  • Evaluating the performance of the design employees.

  • Review all design drawings, hydraulic calculations, and material submittals for compliance with specifications and NFPA codes.

  • Review equipment lists for projects.

  • Assist designers in advancing with NICET goals.

  • Participate in department meetings to review projects progress and future projects.

  • Design Jobs when required.

Role Purpose

  • Manage the in house and sub-contracted design resources.

  • Project size varies but will focus on larger facilities primarily in North America with some possible International sites.

  • This position will require planning for rapid growth.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED

  • 10+ years of experience in life safety/fire design layout using AutoCAD

  • NICET Level III certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • FireCAD and Revit experience.

  • Management experience.

  • Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.

  • Strong desire for continued growth and learning in a team environment.

  • Problem solving and attention to detail.
