We have an immediate opening for the position of Senior Services and Application Engineer for Edwards Life Safety and Emergency Communication/Incident Management equipment. This position provides factory assistance, services and support to our customers focusing on the Western US area.
This position is not an office-based position but will require attendance in Bradenton FL during the onboarding process.
This role may sit anywhere in the US near a major airport. Residence in the Western Half of the US is preferred but not critical.
This position involves providing services to our customers regarding the application, installation, maintenance and upgrade of Edwards’ products and related other products. Customers can be our distributors who are trained on our equipment or end users ranging from small commercial businesses to global corporations with an emphasis on large-scale systems for this position.
Working with our sales team and our customers on their needs to determine the best solutions and create bill of materials, system configuration and programming concepts for life safety and other projects.
Assisting with Ethernet network layouts and planning.
Assisting with project throughout the specifications, design, layout, and management of installations to meet end-user specifications and requirements either remotely or at the project site.
Provide services using Edwards’ software including but not limited to:
FireWorks project creation and management.
Edwards’ fire system configuration software product – 4-CU, 3-SDU, and iO-CU.
Modulaser air sampling layout and design software.
Xtralis air sampling layout and design software.
Custom spreadsheets creation and use for system design calculations
Provide services using other software including FireCad and/or AutoCAD, EASE Sound Modeling software and others.
Provide evaluation of existing system to determine functionality and upgrade paths
Provide project management service during installations, renovations and upgrades.
Documenting and diagraming technical details, report summaries and other business correspondence.
Approximate maximum of 50% travel on an annual basis
Ten years of experience in life safety/fire design, servicing equipment and project management
Experience with products from Edwards or Kidde
Focus on technical aspects of the life safety industry including fire alarm systems, air sampling systems and smoke control systems. Other low voltage system experience may be suitable, depending on the evaluation of skills
