The Director - Compensation is responsible for the overall strategy and operations of the Allied Health compensation team as part of the Total Rewards leadership team, which will include responsibility for Administrative Executive Compensation. The Director will ensure compensation programs and policies support Mayo's strategic objectives, meet legal requirements and include clear processes and governance. The Director must have proven ability to select, train, manage and develop the compensation team for quality, efficiency and high performance. Relationship building across the enterprise is critical to the success of the compensation programs: the Director must be an expert on compensation matters and will serve as a resource to Mayo Clinic leadership, Human Resources leaders, and as an escalation point for the compensation team regarding complex matters. The Director serves relevant compensation committees and collaborates on the Total Rewards project portfolio, which will include agenda planning, contributing content, interacting with committee members, presenting, or preparing minutes. The Director will be accountable for proactively monitoring, interpreting, and advising on external trends, regulatory changes and best practices to ensure that Mayo is compliant and competitive in the marketplace.

Being within driving distance of one of the main campuses (MN, AZ or FL) is preferred. The position may be 100% remote with the ability to work anywhere within the U.S. states, however, travel to the main campuses may be required from time to time
Bachelor’s degree with five years of relevant professional experience required. Career experience must include demonstrated human resources knowledge, leadership and management capabilities, and ability to work collaboratively with others as part of an integrated team. Excellent interpersonal relationships with HR, Ops, or other service focused leadership role colleagues, leaders, employees, and team members. Experience must include demonstrated agility in thinking and delivering/execution of work and strategic priorities. Strong knowledge of internal and external trends and ability to design meaningful solutions using critical and systematic thinking skills.
Master’s degree and relevant certifications preferred. Relevant knowledge of programmatic areas and ability to design and lead transformation of HR programs. Preferred to have or obtain agile certification. Strong knowledge of internal and external trends and ability to design meaningful solutions, relationship building, team building, organization and critical thinking skills are preferred. Two years of leadership experience is preferred.
