WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR: Fors Marsh is seeking a highly organized, intelligent, and motivated researcher to support market research and message testing activities for communication efforts. The selected individual will have the opportunity to work on research that shapes communications spanning a range of topics and objectives, including health communication campaigns, personnel recruitment and workforce communications, and public affairs. This person will contribute to the design, execution, analysis, and reporting of studies using quantitative and qualitative methodologies (e.g., surveys, focus groups, in-depth interviews).
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting projects employing qualitative design, data collection, and analysis methods. Contributing to research materials (e.g., screeners, discussion guides), taking notes, and helping analyze qualitative data.
- Developing surveys and supporting materials including study protocols, data analysis plans, and quality control plans.
- Conducting univariate and multivariate analyses to inform and test communications materials and approaches.
- Conducting literature reviews spanning across disciplines.
- Interpreting study results to identify patterns and solutions.
- Preparing sections of reports and briefings summarizing research methods and findings for non-technical audiences.
- Collaborating with project team on a day-to-day basis to work under tight deadlines to fulfill client requests.
- Balancing roles and responsibilities across multiple concurrent studies and/or tasks.
- Anticipating potential barriers to project completion, proposing solutions to team leadership.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in communication, social science, public health, or a related field.
- Minimum of one to three years of applied research experience required.
- Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (e.g., Stata, SPSS, R) and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with qualitative data collection and analysis.
- Keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work well with others, as well as independently under minimal supervision.
- Applicants may be subject to a low-level government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.
