Job Description

The Technical Product Manager for Web and Mobile Platforms partners with engineering leaders to provide foundational technologyand governance for consumer websites and mobile apps.The platformsenable teams to efficiently create and operate features with consistent designand performance,combining intohigh-quality overallexperiences.The Technical Product Manager leads definingoutcomes, initiatives, and processes that supportthe internal developer community, end user experience,and business priorities.They champion adoption of platform capabilities.They seekalignment and synergy between platforms. Theymust have sufficient knowledge of relevanttechnologies to define meaningful acceptance criteria and to understand how technical decisions affect experience outcomes.

Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Understand platform users’ and stakeholders’ needs.Determine how to assess platforms’ abilityto meet those needsand establish ongoing assessment.Represent those needs in product planning and governance processes.
  • In partnership with platform engineering leaders, lead defining desired outcomes and strategy, then initiatives and processesto achieve those outcomes.
  • In partnership with platform engineering leaders, create and maintain platform team roadmaps.Evaluate potential work’s value and priority.Report progress and status to stakeholders.Show how the teams’ work connects to desired outcomes.
  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria that are specific about outcomes without defining the engineering solution.
  • In partnership with platform engineering leaders, create and lead governance processes that helpfeature teams uphold platform quality and requirements.Help feature teams understand the benefits of platform enhancementsand push for adoption.

Required
  • Significant knowledge of current technologiesand practicesfor creation, deployment,and operation of websites and mobile apps
  • Experience with common product management practices
  • Experience working within agile product teams to build customer-facing software
  • Proven success translating software user and stakeholder needs into relevant outcomes and development scope
  • Proven success achieving outcomes throughindirect influence and building consensus

Preferred

  • Experience with e-commercewebsites and/or mobile apps

  • Experience with major public cloud providers

  • Experience with content delivery networks

  • Experience with web and app analytics tools

  • Experience with mobile app engineering teams and mobile delivery platforms/tooling (Apple and Google appstores)

  • Experience with authentication and identity management systems and practices, such as Okta, Cognito

  • Experience in hospitality or travel industries
