- Improving the usability of our government services software
- Creating seamless and enjoyable experiences by understanding user needs, behaviour, and motivations
- Collaborating with Product teams (QA, project managers, product owners, and development) to understand problems, identify scope, and achieve solutions
- Joining our team culture and helping us continually improve and flourish
- Contributing to and refining our design systems with enhanced components and joyful interactions
- Spreading user-centred practices by being a passionate advocate, and a helpful, thoughtful, knowledgeable and diplomatic colleague
- Delivering research and design updates throughout the UX life cycle with the ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind design decisions and facilitate decision-making by stakeholders
You will love this job if you have
- Four or more years of user experience design in software
- Two or more years of experience in planning and conducting user research, including user testing, interviews and user workshops
- A love of combining elements of psychology, design, technology, and business into creative and strategic solutions and approaches
- Proven experience working with a team to iterate and implement projects
- Demonstrated ability to take a project from concept to dev-ready
- A strong foundation in usability and accessibility
- A knowledge of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- An understanding of design systems, UI components, UX patterns, and responsive design
- Excellent Figma, Miro/Mural skills
- Keen attention to detail and accuracy – in thinking and execution
- Excellent communication abilities, effectively summarizing results to create compelling cases for choices throughout user-centred design
- A creative approach to problem-solving and aptitude for analyzing constraints and strategizing for better solutions
This position will have a 6-month probation period. This role is subject to a background check. This role may require domestic and international travel from time to time. Shortlisted applicants will showcase a portfolio of their previous work and demonstrate their knowledge and capabilities. Candidates should attend interviews prepared to do a design walk-through and task as part of the interview process.
