Position Summary:
IEM is looking for a Full-Time Deputy Project Manager who shall consistently work with the Project Manager to implement and ensure the optimum program management services, and contract management to ensure the most effective progress of the program-sponsored activities. Supports additional projects as assigned. Works with clients, vendors, and staff to accomplish contract deliverables.
Primary Location:
- Candidates will need to be located in a commutable distance to the NOVA/DC Metro Area. May need to visit IEM’s DC office for events.
- Once hired you will deploy (travel) across the United States to client sites as needed.
- You will work remote from home when not deployed.
- All remote work environments require the ability to maintain minimum Internet speeds of 25 Mbps upload and 3 Mbps download, as well as a ping rate of 100 ms or less during working hours, regardless of the type and number of devices using your Internet connection. You must also have account privileges and access to your Internet service provider account during working hours for the purposes of maintaining the Internet connection, if needed.
Travel Requirements:
- This position may require work to be conducted onsite and may require work on weekends or in excess of 40 hours per week. Travel and other expenses are reimbursable in accordance with Federal Travel Regulations.
- All interested candidates must be willing to work on site for the duration of each disaster assignment. Assignments typically may last up to 12 months with potential for extension.
- Situational Awareness: During site assessments, conditions may be austere including prolonged exposure to excessive heat and cold, prolonged sun exposure and no electricity, heat or air conditioning. Other potential risks include air quality issues, standing water, mosquitos, snakes, debris and other potential exposures
Essential Functions:
- Scheduling, assigning staff, allocating resources, assessing risk, and managing them.
- Coordinating various components that contribute to the Project to ensure on-time delivery.
- Ensuring that deadlines are met, and keeping all parties informed of progress and any outstanding issues. Contribute and support the client production goals and responsible to identify potential risks and identify feasible solutions.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Three (3) years’ experience working on Health-related Emergency Management
Projects
• Master’s Degree from an accredited college
• Have a current and valid driver’s license.
• Proficiency in MS Office, (especially MS Teams) Certify, ADP, and standard office
software
• Experience conducting new business research
• Experience planning medical needs shelters and for the Louisiana Dept of Health
• Experience planning medical support to disaster shelters for the Sarasota region FL
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Excellent multitasking skills
• Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Detail-oriented and highly organized
• Must be able to pass a Child Abuse background check, and all applicable state and
federal criminal background checks.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.
• Experience organizing client meetings and seminars
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting IEM Health clinics in VA, FL, NV, LA and MS Experience supporting the establishment of "Ad hoc" mass care as a contractor 4+ years’ experience with IEM
