Hitachi Energy is a global leader in delivering innovative energy solutions. We are currently seeking a Field Service Apprentice to join our dynamic team. As a Field Service Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop valuable skills in the field of energy equipment maintenance and customer service.
Our Service Solution Business provides a vast range of service, maintenance and call out services throughout the UK primarily focusing on Low Voltage (LV), Medium Voltage (MV) and High Voltage (HV) systems. As part of our expansion plans, we are initially looking to recruit an Apprentice who is excited to learn in environment which will not only be restricted to an office environment.
This exciting Apprenticeship will offer continued education at college or university and training courses specific to the High and Medium Voltage industry depending on your level of skill set. You’ll have the opportunity to be mentored by the top talent in the energy industry and go to site and have a chance to apply your learning into real world scenarios.
During your apprenticeship you’ll complete a minimum of National Diploma (ND) in electrical and electronic engineering with the possibility of an Higher National Certificates (HNC) as well as training in industrial relevant courses and gain hands on, on site experience on the below.
Support the technician to undertake the following tasks in the industrial and renewable sector;
Performing inspection on High Voltage (HV) and Medium Voltage (MV) equipment
Performing maintenance on HV and MV equipment testing and commissioning
Writing condition assessment reports for a range of customers
Reading and understanding safety documentations and adhering to safer practice of working
Participating in weekly forums to discuss best practice and knowledge sharing
Responsible for maintaining and calibration certificates of all issued equipment
Complete the Hitachi Apprenticeship scheme which will involve working with Apprentices from all sectors of the business
Minimum of 5 GCSE – 4-9 (or equivalent) including math and English
Be familiar with Microsoft word and excel
Experience in the electrical industry preferred but not essential
Be willing to work away from home on request
