Herman-Scheer is a brand consultancy that creates brands, products, and experiences for businesses that keep people healthy. We focus on a range of sectors, including disruptive healthcare, wellness technology, healthy food and beverages, fitness and recreation, and personal care. We have a 15 person team that is primarily remote with an office space in Venice for occasional in person meetings and working sessions.
As a Senior Visual Designer, you will lead design projects and collaborate with creative directors, strategists, copywriters, and fellow designers. Your role will involve crafting diverse, highly differentiated, and strategic design solutions that effectively meet our client partners' business goals.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Visual Design: Lead visual design for projects ranging from branding, web, campaign, social, packaging, print and beyond while keeping strategy and business goals top of mind.
- Branding: Create compelling visual identity systems including logo, color palette, typography, art direction, iconography, illustrations, etc. Show how the identity manifests in a variety of brand and marketing touchpoints. Develop brand guidelines outlining rules and rationale.
- Conceptual Development: Create strong conceptual foundations for design direction and decisions via mood boards and written rationale.
- Presentation Skills: Effectively present design concepts and rationale both verbally and in writing, internally and to clients. Strong ability to outline design process, research and inspiration in client facing decks and internal materials.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including creative directors, designers, copywriters and account managers to bring design concepts to life and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
- Learning and Growth: Actively seek feedback and guidance from senior team members, and proactively engage in learning opportunities to enhance your skills and expand your knowledge of design tools, technologies and industry trends.
- Mentorship: Guide and mentor Junior Designers and other team members by sharing feedback, teaching new skills and providing direction as needed.
- Time management: Manage multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to deadlines and project requirements.

Requirements
- 4-6 years of agency or in house experience as a Senior Visual Designer, Graphic Designer or similar role
- BA, BFA or similar degree in Communication / Graphic Design or related field
- Exceptional portfolio with multiple examples of projects you’ve lead
- Keen eye for typography, color, art direction, layout, iconography, etc.
- Proficiency in Figma & Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Additional experience with AI image creation, illustration, 3D rendering, or motion design is a plus.
- Familiarity working in Keynote, Google Slides, Notion, Slack and other related programs.
- Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work efficiently & manage time autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Great communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Passion and acuity for design, culture, visual trends and eagerness to learn and grow in a creative agency setting.

Annual Gross Salary ($90,000 - $110,000)
