Currently, Avint LLC is seeking a motivated, career and team-oriented Sr. Okta Engineer in support of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Continuous Diagnostic & Mitigation (CDM) DEFEND E Program. The CDM DEFEND E Program is a critical component of CISA’s national effort to ensure the defense and resilience of cyberspace.

This position will specifically contribute to an upcoming Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) initiative within the DEFEND E Program. Avint's goal in this project is to identify gaps in current ZTA architecture, design a roadmap to address those gaps, and implement cutting-edge technologies and processes that enhance the government's cybersecurity posture.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing Okta solutions within a federal organization. You will collaborate closely with your Agile delivery team to refine and fulfill Access Management (AM) requirements, ensuring seamless authentication integration for various applications. Your duties will involve developing, testing, and deploying Okta functionalities to meet organizational needs.

This is a remote position where the candidate can work from any location within the United States provided, they are able to work on an eastern time zone schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Agile team to define and satisfy system requirements, ensuring the overall solution aligns with the organization's security and authentication needs.
  • Develop and implement processes for onboarding new applications for authentication using standard protocols.
  • Create application-specific security policies to enhance authentication security.
    Integrate user identities into Okta from one or more data sources, ensuring secure and efficient identity management.
  • Develop and execute a change enablement strategy for the smooth rollout of Okta systems.
  • Implement and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures specific to Okta to maintain compliance and protect organizational data.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of identity and access management (IdAM) technology experience, and 3 years of proven experience with Okta
  • Solid background in using OKTA with relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in successfully migrating legacy software systems to modern platforms, understanding the challenges and best practices involved in such projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Enthusiasm for technology and a genuine interest in staying updated with the latest trends and advancements in the software development industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex technical challenges.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities and requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DHS suitability; not needed to start
  • Candidate is required to be a US Citizen (non-dual citizenship) with the ability to obtain DHS Suitability.
