Are you a detail-oriented book lover who thrives in a fast-paced environment, eager to work closely with different teams to manage projects along their life cycle, while also dipping your toes into designing marketing materials for book publishing? We have the perfect job for you!
We are seeking a Design Assistant to join the Creative Marketing Services team of Penguin Publishing Group, part of Penguin Random House. This person will support a staff of art directors and designers on a highly creative design team that works directly with marketing and publicity teams on all advertisements, promotional items, social media assets, and videos for a book’s campaign—we design everything but the book package!
Where do you come in? The ideal candidate will handle a wide-range of administrative, organizational, workflow-related responsibilities, and at times execute templated design projects, working primarily on the Berkley, Ace, Putnam, Dutton, Tiny Reparations Books, Penguin Press, and Plume imprints. You will gain a broad understanding of what happens behind the scenes (from the general to the particular) when a book is being shaped to enter the competitive marketplace.
