This role involves working with our engineering teams to triage and remediate issues in our software products and developing enhancements to those products.
What Success Looks Like
In 3 months
- Gain a working understanding of the software products you will be supporting
- Acquire facility with all troubleshooting techniques related to these products
- Establish an understanding of the Arcadia organization and build relationships with stakeholders in other areas of the business
- Participate in Scrum rituals with your team to identify potential for process improvements
In 6 months
- Work with your technical lead to formalize documentation of common issues and steps for resolution
- Improve observability (logging and metrics) of the software products you will be supporting
- Work closely with the production support team to educate them on triage techniques with the goal of improving their self-service abilities
- Participate in code reviews for other team members
- Provide coverage when other team members are unavailable
In 12 months
- Have acquired expertise in two or more software products that your team supports
- Mentor new team members in how to triage and remediate issues
- Be able to identify high priority items
- Be knowledgeable about workarounds
What You'll Be Doing
- Attending daily and weekly team meetings to report on status of ongoing work
- Investigating issues that are brought to the team through observability tools
- Communicating with members of other teams to understand and replicate issues
- Maintaining and improving documentation on how to identify and solve problems
- Working with our customers’ data in a responsible and secure manner
- Implementing fixes to issues with code and configuration
- Creating test cases and implementing test suites
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Understanding of software systems
- Understanding of cloud computing
- Communication skills, verbal and written
- Ability to deliver work of high quality that has been tested thoroughly
- Skills: SQL, Rails, JavaScript, Angular, AWS, and New Relic
