Founding UX Designer

Simbian is on a mission to make cybersecurity autonomous. Our AI-powered Agents, backed by patent-pending innovations, perform common security operations autonomously. They interact with humans. They learn over time. They help businesses scale their security teams by 10x.

We are hiring a UX Design thought leader to join us in this mission. The candidate in this role will own the user experience across all Simbian products and website.

We believe that UX innovations and AI are key to making security approachable to everyone across the enterprise. In this role you will use your creativity and methodical approach to pioneer industry-leading experiences that make this a reality. Your goal will be to create the most delightful and natural experiences ever for this category of products. As the founding designer, you will cover a broad scope including user research, product planning, UI design, usability studies, and measurement.

Responsibilities

• Research: Build deep understanding of current and prospective users — their motivations, skills, work environment. Study experiences of competing and adjacent products. Document your research, segment users, and champion users’ UX needs across the company.
• UX strategy: Define the UX/UI soul, common themes, and principles across all Simbian products and website. Experiment and create innovative UX concepts that make security and AI approachable and usable. Define success metrics and methodology to measure users’ lived experiences.
• Product development: Collaborate with your engineering and product teammates to prioritize UX investments. Create detailed designs and workflows. Deliver engaging products and website that solve user needs with the least user effort.
• Feedback: Conduct usability tests. Measure users’ lived experiences. Distill insights and feed back into product plans.

Requirements

Mandatory:

• 6+ years of experience with UI design, across 2+ products.
• Track record of creating engaging UI designs and getting great user feedback.
• Experience in delivering the full product lifecycle, from planning to shipping to iterating based on user feedback.
• Demonstrates empathy with users who are different from themselves.
• Team player with simple, direct and positive communication.
• Passionate about making complex systems simple.
• Detail-oriented, obsessed with crafting perfect UX.
• Ability to execute in a dynamic, fast-paced and changing environment
• Self-managing, self-correcting.
• Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Willingness to work from home.
• Willingness to participate in meetings during US mornings and evenings due to our distributed team.
