The Content Safety Lead will be responsible for creating, implementing, overseeing and managing the content safety and compliance strategy and operations across all Welltech products and platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of ethical content practices, intellectual property (IP) laws, and compliance with platform-specific content rules (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Google). The Content Safety Lead will ensure that all content adheres to the highest standards of integrity, avoiding deception, infringement, and non-compliance with platform regulations. This role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including the broader Legal team, Product, Marketing, Engineering and Creative teams, to maintain a safe and trustworthy environment for our users.
Develop and implement a comprehensive content safety strategy that aligns with Welltech’s legal, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Establish and enforce content guidelines to ensure all content is truthful, non-deceptive, and compliant with IP laws and platform-specific rules.
Focus on building and maintaining user trust by ensuring that all content and communications are clear, honest, and aligned with our brand values.
Top tier level expertise with the latest trends, regulations, and best practices in content safety, moderation, and digital ethics.
Ensure all content produced or distributed by Welltech is ethical, does not deceive, and maintains the trust of our users.
Collaborate with the Creative and Marketing teams to review content for compliance with ethical standards and to avoid misleading claims.
Oversee the protection and management of intellectual property, ensuring that all content respects copyright, image rights, and other IP laws.
Implement processes for obtaining and managing content licenses and permissions, and for handling IP-related disputes.
Ensure that all content complies with the content rules and policies of platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Google, etc.
Monitor updates to platform policies and adjust Welltech’s content practices as necessary to remain compliant.
Identify and assess risks related to content safety, including potential legal issues arising from non-compliance with ethical standards, IP laws, or platform rules.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address content safety challenges proactively.
Work closely with Product, Legal, Marketing and Creative teams to integrate content safety considerations into the content creation and distribution process.
Serve as the primary point of contact for content safety issues, providing expertise and guidance to internal stakeholders.
Lead initiatives to enhance content safety processes, tools, and technologies, ensuring they evolve with the changing digital landscape.
Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the content safety team.
Communicate content safety policies and practices to internal teams, ensuring alignment across the organization.
Prepare reports and presentations on content safety performance, incidents, and compliance for senior leadership.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law, Ethics, Communications, or a related field. Advanced degree (JD, MBA) is a plus.
Experience: Experience in content moderation, digital ethics, IP law, and/or a related field, preferably within the tech or digital media industry. [Experience managing internal generated/user-facing content in a highly regulated environment is a plus]
Strong understanding of ethical content practices and IP laws.
Deep knowledge of platform-specific content rules (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Google).
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
Certifications: Relevant certifications in content safety, IP law, or compliance are advantageous.
Experience in managing content compliance across multiple digital platforms would be advantageous
Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in content moderation would be advantageous
Previous experience in a high-growth tech or digital media environment would be advantageous
