Since 2020, we have been on the frontline of product and experience design in music, working with over 200 of the most creative and commercially successful artists in the world including Muse, Liam & Noel Gallagher, Sum 41 and Thirty Seconds to Mars.
We believe in the increasing importance of immersive products and experiences to an artist’s career and intend on supporting them through a combination of our music industry literacy, technical knowledge and creative vision.
We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to develop and own our physical collectible product portfolio, set up the supply chain and manufacturing processes and manage third-party manufacturers as well as own the product industrial designs themselves, working in partnership with our Sales and Customer Success team members to deliver on our business opportunities.
This role will report to the Head of Product.
Product portfolio strategy and management. You will develop a strategy for the product portfolio by researching and identifying market trends/opportunities and build out a roadmap of physical product items that will appeal to our customers (both end buyers/owners and our partners, the recording artists and record labels)
Own and deliver on the product portfolio roadmap. You will work closely with the Sales team to ensure we optimise our physical product portfolio to support our sales opportunities. You’ll feel comfortable with establishing and reviewing performance of products, analysing data and sales/customer feedback to refine and recommend changes to improve the products in the portfolio
Manage product design. You will be responsible for overseeing the industrial designs of all products within the physical product portfolio ensuring the desktop design can be converted into premium physical products
Bridge design and manufacturing. You will be the glue in ensuring the designs translate into premium quality physical products, liaising with the manufacturers where necessary to get the best quality finished products for the costs
Identify, select and manage manufacturing partners. You will be responsible for researching and identifying third party manufacturers that can help deliver your product portfolio vision. You’ll be comfortable working with the chosen partners and managing the products that are developed with them as well as setting up the required logistics processes and communication channels to ensure an efficient supply chain
Be exceptionally pragmatic. You'll need to make the right tradeoffs to keep moving forward by balancing a variety of inputs and customer demands including product quality and costs
Be accountable for product quality. You're accountable for ensuring we always deliver a premium product. We expect you to raise the bar and push to build and maintain a world-class product portfolio.
Strong experience of physical product development You have 8+ years of experience of managing the development of physical products and understand tradeoffs between materials/quality, time and costs
Experience of portfolio management You have experience of researching and selecting and reviewing items for a cohesive portfolio of physical products. You have experience of researching, selecting and managing third party manufacturers. You have an understanding of supply chain and logistics.
Clear communicator. We expect you to be able to excite and engage the whole team to get buy-in on your ideas. We’re looking for someone who is comfortable managing all types stakeholders from sales representatives to manufacturing partners
Pragmatism. We're looking for someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and has a can-do attitude. You must be comfortable with ambiguity and be flexible with change as we evolve our business
Domain expertise is a plus. Ideally, you have some of the following which is beneficial but is not required:
Experience working with manufacturing partners based in Asia
Experience working in toy or consumer product industrial design
Experience working with design concepts, product specifications & drawings
Location: Sydney, Australia or China or South Korea
Travel: We expect that there will be some travel required as part of this role to visit our manufacturing partners.
