About Colonist

We're building the biggest digital board game platform on the internet. Last year, our players spent 874 years playing 33 million games on our Settlers of Catan alternative. We're a fully remote, asynchronous team spread across multiple continents, focused on crafting extremely polished digital board games that people truly love.

About the Role

As a Product/Game Designer at Colonist, you'll shape the future of our digital board game platform used by millions of players worldwide. You'll work at the intersection of game design and user experience, creating intuitive and engaging features that enhance player satisfaction. This is a fast-paced role where you'll have direct impact on how millions of people experience our games.

What You'll Do

• Design and prototype UI/UX solutions for multiple platforms and devices using tools like Figma and Photoshop

• Conduct user research through interviews, A/B tests, and data analysis to validate design decisions

• Create engaging layouts, skins, and themes that align with Colonist's branding

• Collaborate with the team to propose and implement design improvements based on user needs

• Stay current with gaming industry trends and competitor analysis to inform design decisions

Requirements

• Level 5 or above experience (refer to Figma Product Design Ladder)

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to find innovative solutions quickly

• Proven track record of designing intuitive user interfaces for digital products

• Experience with design principles (Gestalt, heuristics, accessibility) and data-driven decision making

• Used to working remotely, ideally in an asynchronous format
