JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a self-driven Senior Creative to lead content strategies, copywriting, and content creation for both organic social and performance work streams across tech and financial services accounts. While the unique title on our team is Senior Creative, think of this hybrid role as Senior Creative Strategist meets Senior Copywriter.

In this position, you will be hands-on in the strategic, conceptual, and executional side of the work, responsible for coming up with captivating ideas that capture target audiences’ attention and leading the work from beginning to end. You’ll work closely with the account planning team to understand client goals and partner with the design and tech teams to bring your creative vision and strategies to life. All your work will be underpinned by a deep understanding of digital platforms (existing and new) and social best practices.

You’ll push the boundaries of briefs, dig into the ‘why,’ and explore new creative frontiers. Often, clients come to us with a business objective or a new audience to reach—it’s your job to unpack what that could mean and where that could live creatively. This role requires a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit, an unwavering curiosity about the latest digital offerings, and close collaboration across departments.

You’ll report into our Associate Creative Director.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of Senior Creative at DEPT is exciting and varied. In this role, you will:

  • Lead creative projects from ideation through final delivery
  • Lead monthly always-on social for a tech brand, spanning consumer to B2B channels
  • Lead monthly performance creative with strong focus on creative testing and innovation for a financial services brand
  • Help establish a cohesive strategic vision based in research and cultural insight
  • Build and present original and compelling concepts that turn a brand vision or campaign framework into real-world executions
  • Create and present high-caliber work that inspires new audiences and drives engagement and conversion
  • Build decks with impressive narratives and present them in a way that wins over clients
  • Work closely with Design and Account Planning counterparts
  • Play a key role in guiding our Community Manager to innovate and contribute strategic value to your work
  • Ensure we’re taking advantage of the latest tech and most advanced approaches,
    as well as expanding into new platforms
  • Assist in new business pitches

SKILLS AND PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE

To be considered for this role, you will need the skills or experience outlined below.

  • 5+ years relevant experience within a creative advertising role, including creative strategy and/or copywriting
  • Experience working with major brands in an advertising agency setting
  • Deep knowledge of social platforms + formats (TikTok, Meta, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat)
  • Experience leading junior Creatives and Community Managers
  • Experience in full-funnel performance creative and iterating on copy
  • Experience working in production and with influencer and creator talent
  • Experience with digital marketing campaigns that have made an impact on clients’ businesses
  • Award-winning work a plus!
  • A high level of mastery of Google Suite and Slack
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and listening skills
  • Ability to remain focused under pressure and get things done on a tight deadline

Location: Must be able to work 9:30-6pm EST hours

The anticipated salary range for this position is $83,000 - $98,000. Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, expertise, and organizational impact. This is based on a 40-hour workweek and leveling. Keep in mind, we're flexible.
