We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Online Content Researcher (Film and TV) to join our team. The ideal candidate has a deep love for movies and television, a knowledge of the film industry, and a demonstrated skill for research.
As an Online Content Researcher (Film and TV) you will be researching, analyzing, and categorizing film and television content to build an enriched metadata database that enhances user discovery and recommendations. You will be responsible for identifying and cataloging core attributes of films and TV shows, including cast & crew, locations, genres, themes, tones, and other key metadata points. This role requires precision, creativity, and a strong understanding of the nuances that make each piece of content unique.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct in-depth research on film and TV titles across various genres, regions, and formats to collect and verify metadata
Identify and categorize content by key attributes, such as genre, tone, themes, target audience, and plot summary
Maintain a consistent and standardized approach to data entry and metadata tagging to ensure accuracy and uniformity across all entries
Use industry databases, search engines, and niche resources to gather information on classic, contemporary, and independent titles
Review and assess the accuracy of data collected, in adherence to provided guidelines
Professional fluency in English (you will be sharing the research inputs in English)
Strong research skills with the ability to quickly locate reliable information on a wide range of film and TV topics
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and content analysis
Proficiency in using global and regional entertainment databases or specialized research tools
Strong understanding of local entertainment industries
Ability to work independently within tight deadlines
Preferred Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in film studies, Media Studies, Library Science, Journalism, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Experience in metadata research, content curation, or film-related research
Experience with data tagging, categorization, or taxonomy in a digital media setting
Knowledge of the film and TV industry, including major genres, influential filmmakers, and historical context
Knowledge of film and TV analytics, viewer behavior, or recommendation systems
Familiarity with content management systems, metadata standards, and data organization principles
Familiarity with international cinema and television
