The Senior Marketing Specialist leads and manages a team that creates and develops proposals, responses to RFPs, and client presentations that tell the story of Mayo Clinic Laboratories and position us for success with current and prospective clients. The Senior Marketing Specialist collaborates and builds relationships with sales leads and a cross-functional proposal team to develop proposals and materials to support RFP responses. They are also responsible for the development and ongoing management of the strategic management response system.
The Senior Marketing Specialist works independently and effectively in an agile environment that promotes teamwork and frequent collaboration with cross-functional proposal team members. Attention to detail is critical, as are time management and the ability to manage competing priorities. The writer produces high-quality work by deadline and adheres to established content standards, policies, processes, and workflows. Performs other duties as needed.
Key activities performed by the Senior Marketing Specialist include:
- Managing client proposal and RFP responses – Provide marketing leadership in the creation and development of proposals, RFPs, and proposal presentations that tell our story and position MCS for success with our current and prospective clients.
- Writing and proofreading – Writing and reviewing one’s own work and the work of others for compliance with RFP requirements, accuracy, readability, and to ensure proposed solutions align with clients’ specific needs.
- Content development – Developing and maintaining a library of standard language to implement across proposals and other client-facing materials.
- Storytelling – Creative writing, content design, data visualization, and the ability to translate strategy into effective storytelling.
- Brand stewardship – Managing and adhering to Mayo brand standards.
- Software fluency – Creating materials based on pre-existing templates in InDesign, PowerPoint, and Word.
This Position is 100% Remote; can work from anywhere within the United States

Ideal candidate will have experience developing proposals and responding to RFPs, specifically with fluency in using InDesign and PowerPoint templates to create new proposals. Please clearly indicate these qualifications on your resume.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field, which may include liberal arts, business, marketing, healthcare, or similar field, plus 5 years professional experience in marketing, or a related field.Or, a master’s degree in a related field (MBA preferred), with 3 years professional experience in marketing, or a related field.
Additional Qualifications:
- Previous healthcare experience highly preferred
- Strong academic performance required.
- Business acumen, including proven expertise in creating marketing strategies based on business objectives.
- It is preferred if experience includes work with a major brand.
- Requires strong leadership, problem solving, critical thinking, active listening, quantitative skills, persuasive oral and written communication, project management, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven execution ability, including digital marketing experience.
- Must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style and collaborative environment that expects and promotes teamwork.
- Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, changing environment, and have experience in effectively meeting deadlines on-time with a quality product.
- Must possess high personal motivation supporting a strong work ethic, flexibility, and creativity.

- Must require experience working with target audiences, market research, and competitive landscape evaluation.

- Position requires occasional travel and the flexibility to work weekends and evenings as necessary.
