The Department of Systems Engineering and Operations Research has 21 full-time faculty members with wide-ranging research interests and a strong commitment to teaching. The department offers an ABET-accredited BS in Systems and Industrial Engineering, an MS degree in Operations Research, an MS degree in Systems Engineering, and a PhD in Systems Engineering and Operations Research. The department also participates in the school-wide MS in Data Analytics Engineering. The SEOR programs are ranked 34th nationally in their category in US News and World Report. This is a part time teaching appointment requiring approximately 10 hours per week, per course. Expertise in the following courses are particularly needed:
Course descriptions can be found at catalog.gmu.edu/. Courses are offered during daytime or evening hours and are offered in a variety of formats, including in-person, online, and hybrid. The appointment is for one semester (4 months), and can be renewed in subsequent semesters at the discretion of the chair. The teaching load is typically one course in a semester, but additional courses can be assigned depending on the preference of the candidate and the needs of the department.

In 2025, Fuse a new 355,000 square foot building, will open to students, faculty, and research teams.
