Job Description:As an Experienced Bookkeeper, you’ll play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of this multi-faceted retail business. Working remotely, you’ll handle bookkeeping tasks, generate insightful reports, and contribute to strategic financial decisions. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with diverse sales channels, including physical retail, e-commerce, and B2B operations. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining financial accuracy, producing analytical reports, and potentially assisting with VAT returns. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional seeking to make a significant impact in a growing retail environment.
Responsibilities:- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using QuickBooks for multiple company entities
- Oversee vendor and supplier payments, ensuring timely processing
- Generate and analyze monthly sales reports from various systems, including EPOS Now
- Conduct comprehensive stock management reporting and analysis
- Utilize advanced Excel skills to manipulate large datasets into actionable insights
- Assist with VAT return preparation and submission (for experienced candidates)
- Ensure accurate transaction categorization with correct VAT associations
- Support inter-company billing processes based on stock usage and sales data
- Monitor and reconcile transactions across multiple sales channels
- Collaborate with external accountants and company leadership as needed
- Full payroll management through QuickBooks for 9 employees
- Reconcile several income and cash accounts in QuickBooks
- Produce cashflow forecasts on a monthly basis
- Complete self-assessments for 2 company directors
- Create and send purchase orders based on stock management forecasts and monthly stock review meetings with directors
- Collaborate with Shop Managers on sales and stock reports to ensure accurate and relevant data is being shared on a weekly and monthly basis
Requirements
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or financial analysis
- Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks and expert-level Excel skills
- Strong understanding of UK VAT regulations and return processes
- Familiarity with point-of-sale systems (EPOS Now experience a plus)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Adaptability to learn and work with various IT systems
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members
- Discretion in handling confidential financial information
- Enthusiasm for contributing to a growing retail business
