ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Senior SEO Editor on our CardCritics team, you will play a critical role in shaping and executing our content strategy. In this role, you will ensure we deliver top-tier financial content that serves our readers. You’ll oversee the production of high-quality articles weekly, tailored to an audience interested in premium credit cards and travel. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll refine our content to align with our brand’s mission of putting readers first. Additionally, you’ll recruit and manage a team of expert freelance writers, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation. By leveraging advanced SEO techniques and tools, you’ll ensure our content not only stands out in search engines but also adheres to the highest standards of quality and relevance.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Publish an average of 35 pieces of top-tier SEO financial content per week that caters to a premium credit card audience.
- Develop and maintain CardCritics unique content strategy that aligns with our brand values and consumer-first outcomes.
- Steward topical authority for CardCritics within Credit Cards and Travel by partnering with SEO, Syndication, and Outreach to build a cohesive editorial strategy.
- Build and maintain a freelance writer network for CardCritics which focuses on attracting strong subject matter expertise on credit cards and travel.
- Embrace SEO-first technology to ensure all content hits SEO best practices, maintaining a measuredly high standard of operational excellence.
- Leverage SEO tools to identify opportunities to optimize our content in order to achieve a strong average rank.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in SEO, specifically within the credit card editorial space, with an understanding of compliance requirements.
- At least 8+ years of editorial experience, including editing and writing for high-volume, top-tier YMYL websites.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams and with external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to attract, manage, and maintain a network of top-tier freelance writers.
- A focus on achieving measurable outcomes, with a bias towards action and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring content quality and compliance.
- Able to thrive in collaborative environments and enjoys rolling up their sleeves to tackle challenging projects.
- Experience working on high-volume MUV (Monthly Unique Visitors) sites and building content libraries to meet business objectives.
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000. Pay offered may vary within the posted range based on a number of factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
