Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Intern to join our dynamic team. This internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of tourism marketing, particularly in sports tourism and destination stewardship. As a Marketing Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting our campaigns, assisting with project coordination, and participating in team initiatives.

FLSA STATUS: Part-time, temporary, non-exempt
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
Under the Supervision of Tourism Partner Marketing Manager:
- Maintain the CRM (Salesforce database) for all Esports inquiries
- Assist in organizing and documenting the esports grant application process
- Update SportsNC.com to ensure accuracy of partner listings
- Research, write and edit communication content pieces as needed for the Esports grant
- Support the team in gathering promotional materials and assets from local partners to enhance collaborative marketing efforts.
- Maintain the CRM (Salesforce database) for all Outdoor NC campaigns and track partner promotions
- Aid in the creation and distribution of monthly newsletters for partners using Marketing Cloud
- Assist in creating engaging content for Outdoor NC social media and website
- Help create content through filming, creating visuals, copywriting descriptions and more.
- Support the maintenance of project management tools and timelines.
- Participate in team meetings to learn about various marketing functions and best practices. Ensure consistency in brand guidelines across all marketing materials.
- Complete relevant training programs related to tourism and destination management.
- Update the company presentation deck with new materials on tourism initiatives and programs.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This role offers a hybrid working model, working in a general office environment and working remotely. The position may include statewide travel for meetings and other events. Work hours may include limited evenings, weekends and overnight travel.

Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Currently pursuing a degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
LICENSE AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
- Knowledge of social media platforms and content creation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Marketing Cloud or Salesforce is a plus.
