About the role

We are a high-growth digital media company operating a portfolio of performance-driven affiliate websites within the iGaming industry. Our mission is to connect players with top online casinos, sportsbooks, and poker sites through reliable, optimized, and user-centric digital experiences.

We're seeking an experienced SEO Project Manager to lead, coordinate, and scale SEO and content operations across multiple websites in our iGaming portfolio. This is a high-impact role requiring cross-functional collaboration, analytical acumen, and technical expertise.

The SEO Project Manager will serve as the central operational driver behind our iGaming affiliate SEO efforts. You'll coordinate across departments—SEO strategists, content creators, developers, outreach teams, and analytics experts—to deliver best-in-class organic growth strategies that align with business goals.

This is not a generic SEO role. You will be managing high-value web properties in a highly competitive niche—with a focus on precision, scalability, and compliance.

This role can be based in Malta (hybrid) or fully remote within Europe or North America.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Plan, prioritize, and manage SEO projects across a portfolio of 5–20 iGaming affiliate websites.
  • Create and maintain project roadmaps, timelines, Gantt charts, and sprint planning documents.
  • Oversee cross-functional collaboration between SEO, development, design, content, and outreach teams.
  • Use tools like Asana, Jira, ClickUp, or Monday.com to manage workflows and deadlines.
  • Monitor project KPIs and milestones; adjust timelines as needed based on shifting priorities.

SEO Strategy Implementation

  • Translate high-level SEO strategy into actionable project plans and SOPs.
  • Ensure proper implementation of technical SEO elements (e.g., crawlability, indexation, schema, core web vitals).
  • Collaborate with SEO strategists on keyword mapping, content hub creation, and topical authority development.
  • Oversee site structure optimizations, internal linking strategies, and performance testing.

Content Operations

  • Coordinate with content managers and writers to execute briefs, update existing content, and manage publishing schedules.
  • Track production status across multiple content types: reviews, guides, news, and comparison tables.
  • Implement rigorous editorial QA workflows with a focus on E-E-A-T, accuracy, and regulatory compliance (e.g., age gating, gambling disclaimers).

Technical SEO & Web Dev Liaison

  • Work closely with developers to ensure proper site functionality, schema markup, and web vitals.
  • Lead site migrations, URL restructuring, and new domain launches with minimal SEO impact.
  • Conduct regular SEO audits and address technical issues (e.g., canonical tags, hreflang, sitemaps, redirects).
  • Ensure websites comply with Google Search Essentials and iGaming regulations.

Off-Page SEO & Link Building Support

  • Collaborate with outreach teams and link vendors to track off-page campaign progress.
  • Ensure all backlink acquisition is aligned with Google Webmaster Guidelines and brand safety.
  • Maintain backlink quality control and disavow toxic links when necessary.

Analytics, Reporting & Forecasting

  • Build dashboards in tools like Google Looker Studio, Ahrefs, GA4, and SEMrush.
  • Track SEO KPIs (traffic, rankings, CTR, bounce rates, conversions) and create executive summaries.
  • Set growth goals per project and produce forecasting models based on historical performance and market trends.

Compliance & Industry Standards

  • Ensure all websites adhere to local gambling regulations (UKGC, MGA, etc.).
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in Google algorithms, SEO best practices, and competitor landscapes.
  • Incorporate responsible gambling messaging and user protection policies into projects.

Requirements:

Experience & Knowledge

  • 3–6+ years of SEO project management, ideally in an affiliate marketing or iGaming context.
  • Strong experience managing large content pipelines, technical SEO, and cross-functional teams.
  • Deep knowledge of SEO tools: Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb, Google Search Console, GA4, and more.
  • Solid understanding of iGaming verticals (online casinos, betting, poker) and related compliance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to scale SEO traffic on large web properties.

Skills

  • Strong project management and organizational skills—certifications in PMP, Agile, or Scrum are a plus.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms (WordPress, headless CMS, etc.).
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced, globally distributed teams.

Nice To Have

  • Knowledge of affiliate tracking platforms (e.g., Impact, NetRefer, Income Access).
  • Experience with programmatic SEO and templated content scaling.
  • Multilingual SEO experience (especially in DE, SE, JP, FI, or ES markets).
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted content workflows and automation tools.
  • Background in front-end development or design.
